Difference between available and present balance at chase?

I have chase checking account.

my available balance is $2.73 and my present balance is $215.73? why is there a $213 gap?|||1. You may have an auto payment you forgot about coming up.

2. You may have outstanding checks you may have forgot about.

3. Call Chase and they will go over your DDA with you .. I advise you to do that now !!!|||The amount you always want to look at is the "available balance" so 2.73 is what you have left to spend without worry of overdraft, the present is simply the stated term for what your balance was at the start of the business day, $213 in purchases is still pending, like that debit at the gas station, or that atm withdraw you did two hours ago..chase knows you did it, chase is telling you what your balance is after you did those transactions, but the business day hasn't closed yet and officially affirmed those transactions...but when it does your present balance at midnight would then become the 2.73

hope this helps!
