What's the difference between a/c balance & available balance?!?

I'm really confused! I went to check how much money I had and it said this:

A/C Bal: 拢15.47

Avail Bal: 拢32.18

Surely, the A/C balance should be more than available? :S How can I have 拢15.47 in my account but can take out more than what's actually in there?

PLEASE HELP :)|||If your available balance is showing more then your account balance then you must have a small overdraft facility.

When you have an overdraft you are allowed to withdraw it, along with any actual money you have in your account.

Example:

You have 拢20 in your account, and you have a 拢100 overdraft. So long as you have no pending payments your A/C balance will show 拢20, but your available balance will show 拢120.|||urrent Balance is literally how much money you have in the bank...that's the easy one.

Available Balance is a little different.

If you've been using your ATM/Debit Card for various transactions... that money doesn't come out of your account IMMEDIATELY. The information of where the purchase was and how much the purchase was for is sent immediately.... if you have enough money in your balance to cover the purchuse, then the purchase is approved. Some of those purchases could take up to a couple days for the transaction to post and withdraw from your actual balance.

so... available balance is the difference of what your current balance is and any pending transactions that haven't posted yet... it's a safeguard to keep you from over-drafting your account.|||It means there are transactions pending for today. Something or a few transactions are coming out to the value plus you might have some credits going in at the same time, or an overdraft which makes your balance look weird :D
